Green Road is now Greener!
St. John’s adopted the south end of Green Road from Hwy 2 to Concession
Rd. Our second Bi-Annual Clean-up took place on Earth Day (Sunday,
April 22). After a short safety talk and hotdog lunch, safety vests and
gloves were issued to each volunteer and we car-pooled to the
site. This spring we picked up 31 bags of garbage, 2 tires, 4
toilets, a box of paint cans, 3 election signs and various other stuff
thrown to the side of the road. We received a very nice phone
call from a resident of Green Road who praised our efforts and said he
and his neighbours very much appreciated our time spent on Green
Road. A special thank you to Sharron Lindsay and Kaye McOustra
for supplying goodies for lunch and to Barry Wheeler, coordinator of
the Spring Clean-up.
Our first road clean-up took place on
Saturday October 14 with 12 enthusiastic parishioners participating.
